I bet that your morning starts off with coffee from Starbucks, a 45-minute workout, cereals for breakfast before logging into work. But what if we can add a little spice to this morning routine. Jazz it up, alter this habit and bring more life to it. Your 45-minute workout is rather stale and here are 5 ways in which you can spice it all the way up!
Bodyweight Training
Let's lift some weights shall we, I promise they are good for you!. Bodyweight training uses the resistance of your own body to build muscle, increase flexibility, and burn fat. Think push-ups, pull-ups, burpees, squats, and if you’re feeling dangerous hand balancing. This back-to-basics approach to exercise is intuitive, available 24/7 (no excuses), and if done regularly, delivers the coveted beach body.
Try a new class.
If you have a set routine, mix things up by trying a new group fitness class. For example, if you regularly attend dance-based classes, a yoga or Pilates session may deliver an element of fitness that you didn't even realize you were missing. Also, if you typically work out on your own, joining a class can be a welcome change of pace that makes things a bit more fun.
"Gamify" your workouts.
Adding games to your workout never hurt anyone, instead, they made the workouts fun and bearable. There are different kinds of ways to "gamify" your workouts, from literally playing active video games with your family or friends to adding an element of chance to your workouts by rolling dice or flipping over cards to determine the exercise or the number of repetitions you'll be performing. This not only makes it more competitive but helps secrete dopamine making it an enjoyable experience.
It’s a Date
Make your next routine a date, this can be with either your partner or friend, this will not only make the workout more exciting but will also increase competition between the two of you. Doing this will ensure that you break sweat whilst getting that date! Romantic isn't it?
