It’s the small things we all do every day that add up to our motivation to stay fit and healthy, and it’s always a work in progress. In this journey to better health, we often forget the best part – to have some fun!
What started as a Board Games Bootcamp has now been gamified to a board game—Boardgains. We wanted our members to experience a fun, motivating, and exciting way of working out, with a hint of competitiveness while bringing friends & families together.
Our mission is to deliver these gains and fun all around the world. Boardgains is in fact, a game of many gains!
Work hard while Playing hard: We understand all the hard work that goes into staying committed to your health & fitness journey, and we believe in this journey being fun.
Innovation & Execution: We don’t do boring, and we don’t want you to do boring either. We work hard to deliver innovative fitness experiences that are easy for you to execute.
Evolve & Adapt: We believe in helping you grow and evolve each day. We are dedicated to making you better than you were yesterday.
My name is Eric Mathura, the Founder of BoardGains and often referred to as the fitness & fun guru. My journey began as I was discovering my career path—I indeed had no idea what that would look like. So I started hosting small events with a group of friends, which brought me to the realization that my passion is finding creative ways to deliver excitement and fun. However, that realization alone wasn’t enough, so I pursued my B.Sc. in Kinesiology at York University.
Upon graduation, I wanted to put my learnings from University into practice. So I proceeded my career in the Health & Fitness Industry as a Personal Trainer, followed by Boot Camp Instructor. I also enrolled in a Sport & Event Marketing post-graduate program to continue to gain more knowledge. In the past 8 years at Habitual Fitness, I dedicated most of my time developing creative events that brought fun to fitness. One of those events was Board Games Boot Camp.
The moment I saw the excitement, the sense of community, and the motivation my board game boot camp brought, I knew I was onto something special. With all the gains from realizing my passions, learnings, and experience with my clients, I knew I couldn’t stop there. The individuals in these communities helped me realize my potential, and so I was dedicated to creating the same sense of community for everyone out there by delivering a game of many gains. Hence the birth of “Board Gains.”
